Terms of Use — Omlyar Arabic Transliteration Tool

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Omlyar ("the Service") at omlyar.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms apply to all users worldwide. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

Omlyar provides a free, web-based Arabic transliteration tool that converts Latin/Arabizi text to Arabic script using AI technology. The Service includes a virtual Arabic keyboard, word-by-word breakdown, and related features. The Service is provided "as is" and is free of charge.

3. Permitted Use

You may use Omlyar for personal, educational, commercial, and non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. Specifically, you may:

Transliterate Arabic text for personal use, messaging, social media, and content creation
Use the Arabic keyboard to input Arabic characters
Copy and use the generated Arabic text in your own projects
Share the Omlyar tool with others

4. Prohibited Use

You may NOT use Omlyar to:

Generate, translate, or transliterate content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or violates any applicable law
Generate hate speech, content promoting violence, or content targeting individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, nationality, or other protected characteristics
Attempt to overload, attack, or disrupt the Service (DDoS attacks, excessive automated requests, scraping)
Circumvent rate limits or access restrictions through automated means, bots, or scripts without our written permission
Resell or sublicense access to the Service as a standalone product without our written permission
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
Use the Service in any way that violates Anthropic's usage policies (our AI provider)

5. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure the Service remains free and available to all users, we enforce rate limits:

Maximum 20 requests per minute per IP address
Maximum 400 characters per input request
A daily usage cap applies to protect service availability

Attempting to circumvent these limits is a violation of these Terms and may result in your IP being blocked.

6. Intellectual Property

Our content: The Omlyar name, logo, website design, and original code are owned by Omlyar and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Your content: You retain full ownership of any text you input into Omlyar. We do not claim any ownership over your input text or the Arabic output generated from it.

AI output: The Arabic transliterations generated by our AI are provided to you freely. You may use this output without attribution to Omlyar.

7. Third-Party Services

Omlyar relies on third-party services including Anthropic (AI), Google Analytics, and Ko-fi. Your use of features connected to these services is also subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services.

Affiliate links on Omlyar point to third-party services (italki, Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, Duolingo). We may earn a commission if you purchase through these links at no additional cost to you.

8. Disclaimers

Accuracy: AI-generated transliterations are generally accurate but not guaranteed to be perfect. For critical use cases (legal documents, medical content, official translations), please verify output with a qualified human translator.

Availability: We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control.

"As is": The Service is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Omlyar and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of the Service shall not exceed $10 USD.

10. Privacy

Your use of Omlyar is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand our data practices.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration.
