Please read these terms before using Omlyar

By using Omlyar, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms are written in plain language — we believe you deserve to understand what you're agreeing to before you type a word.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Omlyar ("the Service") at omlyar.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms apply to all visitors and users worldwide, regardless of how you access the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Omlyar provides a free, web-based Arabic transliteration tool that converts romanized Arabic (Arabizi / Franco-Arabic / Latin-script Arabic) to Arabic script using AI technology. The Service includes a virtual Arabic keyboard, real-time streaming transliteration, word-by-word breakdowns with English meanings, and related features.

The Service is provided free of charge. No account or registration is required. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time with or without notice.

3. Permitted Use

You may use Omlyar for personal, educational, journalistic, creative, and commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. Specifically, you are permitted to:

  • Transliterate Arabic words and phrases for personal use, messaging, social media, and content creation
  • Use the Arabic virtual keyboard to input Arabic characters directly
  • Copy, paste, and freely use any Arabic text generated by the Service in your own work, with or without attribution to Omlyar
  • Share links to the Omlyar tool with others
  • Integrate Omlyar into personal workflows and productivity setups

4. Prohibited Use

You may NOT use Omlyar to:

  • Transliterate, generate, or facilitate content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Produce hate speech or content promoting discrimination, violence, or harm toward individuals or groups based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, nationality, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Attempt to overload, attack, or disrupt the Service through denial-of-service attacks, excessive automated requests, scraping at scale, or similar abuse
  • Circumvent rate limits or access controls through automated bots, scripts, or proxies without our prior written permission
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service as a standalone product without our written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract proprietary source code from the Service
  • Use the Service in any way that violates Anthropic's Acceptable Use Policy
  • Use the Service to process sensitive personal information such as passwords, financial account numbers, health data, or government identification numbers

5. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure the Service remains free and available to all users, we enforce the following technical limits:

  • Maximum 20 requests per minute per IP address
  • Maximum 400 characters per transliteration request
  • A daily cost cap applies to the overall service to protect availability for all users

These limits are generous for normal personal use. Attempting to circumvent them is a violation of these Terms and may result in temporary or permanent blocking of your IP address. If you have a legitimate high-volume use case, please contact us to discuss options.

6. Intellectual Property

Our content: The Omlyar name, logo, website design, original written content, and source code are the property of Omlyar and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute them without our written permission.

Your input text: You retain full ownership of any text you input into the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your input.

AI-generated output: The Arabic transliterations generated by the AI are derived from your input and are provided to you freely. You may use this output in any of your own projects, commercially or otherwise, without attribution to Omlyar. We do not claim ownership of AI-generated transliteration output.

7. Accuracy Disclaimer

Omlyar uses AI to perform Arabic transliteration. While the tool is highly accurate for everyday Arabizi and common Arabic phrases, AI-generated transliteration is inherently approximate and should not be treated as authoritative.

  • Transliteration involves interpretation — the same romanized string can sometimes map to more than one valid Arabic form depending on dialect, context, and intended meaning.
  • The AI may occasionally render uncommon words, highly dialectal expressions, or names incorrectly.
  • Proper nouns (personal names, place names) may not always follow conventional spelling.

For critical use cases — including legal documents, medical records, official translations, published journalism, or any material where accuracy is consequential — please have a qualified, fluent Arabic speaker review the output before use. Omlyar is a productivity tool, not a certified translation or transliteration service.

8. Third-Party Services and Advertising

Omlyar relies on and integrates with third-party services. Your use of features connected to these services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies:

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party service. Affiliate links on Omlyar may earn us a commission if you make a purchase through them, at no additional cost to you.

9. Disclaimers and "As Is" Service

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND RELIABILITY.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any transliteration output for any particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OMLYAR AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF BUSINESS, OR REPUTATIONAL HARM — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed USD $10. This limitation reflects the nature of a free service and is a fundamental basis of the agreement between you and Omlyar.

11. Privacy

Your use of Omlyar is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how Google AdSense operates on this site, and your rights under applicable data protection law. Please read it.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with general principles of international commercial law, without regard to any particular jurisdiction's conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Omlyar shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails to resolve the dispute within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration before a mutually agreed arbitrator. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
